Your Vote Counts! Register to Vote (Oct 14)

Posted on September 3, 2008 by radicalhapa

As an Asian Pacific Islander American, your right to vote is one of the most valuable rights you will ever have. The freedom to choose the direction of a nation is a powerful and liberating force. Take part in the guiding the direction and future of the United States of America! – APIA Vote

APANO is actively encouraging and organizing with other API organizations to foster stronger voter education and mobilization for the Nov 4 General Election.  You can register to vote if you are a US citizen, resident of Oregon, and at least 17 years of age.   17 year olds may not vote until they are 18.  Oregon elections are vote by mail, a ballot will be mailed to the address you provide in your voter registration.

Voter Registration Resources:

Registration (PDF, Oregon Secretary of State)

County Election Offices to submit Voter Registration (forms available there for registration)

If you would like an APANO activist to come to your group or organization to talk about civic engagement and the importance of voting in the API community, please contact us at info@apano.org.
